Technical hearing aids

The "Technical hearing aids" section develops procedures for improving signal processing in hearing aids and cochlear implants, and adapts them to an individual's loss of hearing.
Signal processing methods are developed using software and tested in a laboratory setting, as well as evaluated in real-life settings using a portable master hearing aid. The aim is to achieve both the highest speech intelligibility and most pleasant sound possible.
A particular challenge lies in the rehabilitation of communication in difficult acoustic situations involving echoes and background noises.
